Onkyo HF Player - Hi-Res Music App Reviews

I really like this app, its been very convenient for allowing me to use files from my flac collection:) without forced alac conversion.. Only thing I would hope is that they add the bitrate in the info section of the current song playing. For all file types;)

最近iPhoneに取り込んだファイルでFLACに埋め込まれているアルバムアートが表示されません。 FLACに埋め込まれている画像サイズに制限があるのでしょうか？ 該当ファイルは、foobar2000やWindows10のMedia Playerでは、アルバムアートが正しく表示されます。

素晴らしいです。ハイレゾ、DSDリアルタイム変換に感謝しています。早く最新機種へのご対応をお願いします。 2016/3/13 ipod touch Gen6 128GB iOS9.2.1 にて正常に動作をする事を確認致しました。OSの問題だったのですね。OPPO HA-2, SONY PHA-3にて正常に動作しています。他のハイレゾアプリと聞き比べてリアルタイムDSDが自分の耳には最高です。これからもサポートをよろしくお願い申し上げます。 FLAC385.2kHzは、DSD変換しない方がメリハリがあると思います。

I really appreciate the sound quality and enjoy it but with only itunes library. After ive purchased the HD Player Pack for 17,99₺ (9,99$), i could use the HD equaliser but no songs ive imported through itunes file sharing appeared on the HD section. Ive hard resetted my iphone5, but it simply didnt work. For your info, ive transferred HDfiles at 24bit/192kHz, 24/96. And those files were FLAC and AIFF. And also,it was claimed that (on Onkyo site) after HD Player Pack IAP, we could upscale 44,1 kHz files to bigger than 48 kHz, but you simply cant. And the worse is when you tap on the "support" button on the App Store, simply the global site of Onkyo opens. And for support, you have to signup. After you signup, you have to choose your product, and surprise!! Onkyo Hf Player is not listed.

App is great, but when you add new songs by itunes, app will shows nothing... You can only search. Please repair that

A real breakthrough app for iOS, the first one to give a true way of getting hi-res audio out of an i-Device. Kudos, Onkyo! Keep up the good work, and keep on improving the app. Pls fix the landscape mode - we would love landscape interface, not only the live EQ view in landscape, and theres a glitch - no return arrrow in landscape mode EQ view, so the only way to get back is to force-stop the app. Pls also consider adding shared music resources (dlna ), otherwise the usfulness of the app is greatly reduced, as hi-res and dsd eat up the storage space too fast to be practical.

Please add support of .cue sheets in future releases.

Since last update dsd DoP mode doesnt work with external dac sony pha2. Flacs are ok. Please fix it!

Guys, what about ui? Great features but its look and feel really needs refinement. What about iPhone 6 support that is mentioned in last update? Everything still looks upscaled :( Also - I think you really should provide hi-res playback feature for free for a people who bought your DAC in some way. Cheers!

Bluetooth connection is disconnected very often while playing music with acoustics Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay A2. In other similar flac players for ios okay. I have different settings but still does not work! (Iphone 6, ios 8.3).

Doesnt show music in IPod list! From May and yet.

Does not show iPod albums and iPod artists in new iPod touch 6 with iOS 8.4 !!! Please fix it !!! The problem is related to the Russian localization of iPod. After I switched my iPod to the English localization iPod began to show albums and artists.

Since the last update, which playback issue, this app has been absolutely amazing--really phenomenal. It also has the best EQ out there. Even if you dont intend to play high-res music, the EQ alone is worth the price of this app. I use this app to drive a $5,000 audiophile stereo--thats how good it is.

First of all, Onkyos HF Player is truly remarkable in its functionality, and feel. If you would like a feature-rich alternative to the built-in Music app, I heartily recommend it. However, one must still (currently) use iTunes to add files to the device, whether syncing an entire library to ones iPhone or selecting otherwise unplayable formats for in-app storage and reproduction. Would it be possible to add FTP support for uploading content to HF Player? Thank you!

I cant believe I didnt think about searching for this App sooner. You wont believe how great audio will sound when you are in total control of the EQ and not a slave to the presets. I prefer Flat mostly but now I have an option for minimal tweaks if needed. A must for anyone with a discerning ear. Get this now and experience the difference. Thank you Onkyo.

No audible distortion even with considerable EQ tweaking. Dont forget to turn HD sound processing on.

i really liked the quality and the custumizability that this app has.

I am a veteran of many apps to play FLAC files on my iPhone and my iPad. This is the best yet in most respects. Because of the limitations of the iPhone DAC it cannot play high resolution files without down sampling. However, unlike any other player Ive seen it will output to an external DAC using the Lightning connector. In theory, the iPhone could play up to 96Khz 24 bit FLACS and may do so with IOS upgrades. For the time being the use of an external DAC is cumbersome. I also question loading high resolution files onto the iPhone since they take up a lot of space. The app happily plays 192Khz 24 bit files, but down samples to 44Khz. After experimenting, Im inclined to make lower resolution files for the app to save space. The equalizer is very useful, if a bit tricky to operate. It is very handy for creating profiles for different headphones. It would be nice to have some generic presets, however. I have not quite got the album art figured out. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. Files that have art work show the generic screen even though they worked with other players. If you into high resolution FLAC music, this is the best player Ive tried.
